Nature informed therapy combines the healing qualities of the natural world into the evidence-based practices of the counseling process.
Research supports what we already know deep down: time in nature helps reduce stress, improve mood, and restore balance. You don’t need to be “outdoorsy” to benefit—this approach is about reconnecting with the part of you that finds peace and renewal in nature. In nature-informed therapy, we may:
Explore metaphors from the natural world to make sense of your experiences (like seasons of change, storms, or growth).
Incorporate grounding and mindfulness practices inspired by the outdoors.
Use natural imagery, sounds, or even walks outside to deepen reflection and healing.
Nature-informed therapy invites you to return to what feels most natural, authentic, and whole. It can be a powerful way to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and find resilience.
